Welcome, Henry Robert!

So, it started off with a doctors appoointment on Wednesday, August 24th where Dr. Fothergil stripped my membranes in an effort to get things going on this pending delivery. I got home and contractions started almost immediately. By later that evening, contractions were 4-5 minutes apart for over an hour, so we called my parents to watch Jack and Ryleigh and headed to Labor & Delivery.

Once we got to L&D, they got me hooked up on the monitors and my contractions were 2 minutes apart, but my cervix wasn't progressing and effacing. So, I was sent home to walk and wait it out for contractions to get stronger. Two hours later we went back since contractions still hadn't stopped. Dr. Fothergil was able to see me this time and said it might be false labor from stripping my membranes. He offered to induce if I wanted, but instead of mixing up our days and nights (it was 11pm by this point), we decided to go home, try to rest and wait it out to see if "real" labor would begin.

I was able to get some sleep from midnight til about 6am when I woke up with severe contractions. We checked in at 7am to L&D for the third and final time. Henry was delivered a short 2 1/2 hours later at 9:27am.
Henry weighed, 7lbs, 9 oz and was 20 inches long.
Jack and Ryleigh were very anxious to meet their little brother.

After we got to my recovery room, we were settled in and had just finished lunch. Jeremy was sitting on the couch talking to me and my mom when he stuttered on a word, which he never does. Immediately after, he fell over and went into a seizure. I paged the nurses and they came pretty quickly. After Jeremy came to, they asked him some simple questions. He knew his name and my name, but he struggled with the year and where he was. Needless to say, Iwas terrified. Another stretcher was brought in and they brought him to the ER. My mom followed him down to be with him and my sister and Marleea came to my room to keep me company and keep me sane. A few hours later, we heard that his CAT scan came back normal as well as his EKG. They seemed to think it was a combination of stress, fatigue, and possibly a medication he was taking for back pain. We have follow up appointments with his primary doctor as well as a neurologist. We are so thankful that his brain was "normal", and are praying for some answers. I am particularly weary of the stuttering since Jeremy said he has started to do this some over the past month or so.
Henry at 4 days old. This little angel has kept us preoccupied and busy and so thankful!

Jack had an "All About Me" page he had to complete for school with a picture of his family. So, here's our family of five! Jeremy was being particularly "difficult". :-) We are all doing well and enjoying our new little addition.
