Memorial Day Weekend

As many of you know, for the long weekend Jeremy went to Colorado to join a friend on their annual rafting trip.  He left Thursday night and returned Monday night around 12:30am.  The trip was pretty close to the Colorado/Utah border, as you can tell by the pictures, but they are nonetheless beautiful. It was a great break for Jeremy to relax before his busy season, but we are sure glad that he's home.

So, while he was rafting and camping, we were in Temple, dealing with Poison Ivy....
We're not sure where Jack got it, but it was all over his face, his wrist and was spreading to his other arm's elbow. I had to take him to the doctor during my conference period on Friday to get a shot. Not too fun, but it helped immediately! He was a trooper and never scratched at it too bad. YEAH!

We also were dealing with a teething 7-month-old. Anyone who knows Ryleigh knows that she is the most happy baby ever, but she was pretty fussy in the mornings and had to get a dose of Tylenol here and there. She has started this new smile that I didn't quite capture in the picture where she scrunches up her nose and has her eyes nearly shut. It's pretty similar to my own baby pictures, even though she definitely favors her daddy, I see glimpses of me! She is the proud new owner of her bottom left tooth and soon-to-be matching right tooth.
We spent the night with my mom and dad one night and brought the kids to Austin the next morning to see my grandfather. It was good to have the company and a break in the weekend.

Lastly, here are some pictures of Jeremy's trip. This first picture, you can see the profile of Crazy Horse on the far right and the chief headdress on the left.
Here's a waterfall along the way before it flooded with torrential rain.
This is Jeremy, Chris and Kyle on their raft/boat. I'm afraid they didn't have enough fun, aren't you?!

  1. Ryleigh is such a pretty little thing! I admit, it's hard to see you in her, but it's getting easier as she gets older.

  2. I hope Jack's poison ivy has gotten better. Poor thing! I love the picture of Ryleigh in her bumbo. What a cutie she is! It sounded like a fun Memorial Day weekend.
